Sam Keith saved my love of comics. I was done, had completely turned my back on the vast wasteland of spandex and pouches that dominated the 90s. And then I saw The Maxx, and I knew that passion, imagination, and a love of craft still existed in the medium.
I feel so fortunate to have been able to tell this to Sam face to face years ago, so he knew how much he meant to at least one of his fans.
